Statewide
Historic Courthouse Preservation Program (THC) – Proposition 4 would help continue this matching grant program to pair state dollars with local and private funds to restore historic courthouses across the state. Created by the legislature in 1999, the program has restored 37 courthouses, with another 27 in the works. (The Bexar County Courthouse in San Antonio, the oldest and largest continuously operated historic courthouse in Texas, was re-dedicated in 2003 after restoration was kick-started by a $2.8 million THC grant.) An estimated $250 million in state funds is needed to restore 121 courthouses that have submitted approved master plans.
Southeast Texas
- Houston Crime Lab (DPS) – $19.1 million to expand and improve the crime lab serving law area enforcement organizations, speeding up turnaround time for evidence analysis and preparing for caseload growth in the future. Most crime labs are decades old, with caseloads now many times their original scope.
- Battleship TEXAS, LaPorte, Harris County (TPWD) – $25 million to complete long-term preservation of the World War II battleship, including a new permanent dry berth. The ship will be taken out of the Houston Ship Channel so it is no longer exposed to corrosive seawater, after which repairs can be made to stabilize and preserve it.
- Levi-Jordan Plantation, West Columbia, Brazoria County (THC) – Prop 4 bonds would help transform this former slave trader's compound into the first state historic site focused exclusively on interpreting the African-American experience in Texas.
- Varner-Hogg Plantation, West Columbia, Brazoria County (THC) – Repairs and improvements for the roof, fences, electrical service and other needs at this popular state historic site interpreting the ante-bellum plantation era, donated by Gov. Jim Hogg's daughter Ima.
- San Jacinto Battleground, LaPorte, Harris County (TPWD) – $435,750 for major water/wastewater system repairs.
- Sea Rim State Park, Sabine Pass, Jefferson County (TPWD) – $1,017,810 to repair wastewater treatment and electrical system damage and relocate water lines and valves. The park has been closed since 2005 because of severe damage caused by Hurricane Rita.
- Sabine Pass Battleground, Sabine Pass, Jefferson County (THC) – Repairs to make this site of an 1863 Civil War battle that helped save Texas accessible to people with disabilities.
South Texas
- Corpus Christi Crime Lab, Nueces County (DPS) – $10 million to expand and improve the crime lab serving area law enforcement organizations, speeding up turnaround time for evidence analysis and preparing for caseload growth in the future. Most crime labs are decades old, with caseloads now many times their original scope.
- Hidalgo County Crime Lab and Regional Office, McAllen (DPS) – $43.8 million to improve the crime lab's capacity and efficiency, expand the driver license office and parking, and accommodate growth for border security as part of a 105,000-square foot DPS Regional Headquarters.
- Rio Grande State Center, Harlingen, Cameron County (DSHS) – $ 72,675 to replace air conditioning system condensers for client residences.
- Goliad State Historic Site, Goliad County (TPWD) – $67,451 for repairs and improvements to make the existing playground equipment in the park day-use area compliant with legally required safety and Americans with Disabilities Act standards.
- Goose Island State Park, Rockport, Aransas County (TPWD) – $248,805 to repair and replace old electrical service and waterlines at 43 campsites in the Wooded Area campground.
- Fulton Mansion, Fulton, Aransas County (THC) – To upgrade electrical systems, replace air conditioning units, buy "touch-talk" interpretive items and replace interpretive displays.
- Lake Corpus Christi State Park, Mathis, San Patricio County (TPWD) – $65,941 to repair a collapsed retaining wall washed out by high lake levels and wind driven waves.
- Lake Texana State Park, Edna, Jackson County (TPWD) – $666,182 to repair and replace electrical and water distribution service to campsites in the Multi-Use Camping Area.
- Choke Canyon State Park, Calliham, McMullen County (TPWD) – $978,220 to replace and repair roofs at both the Calliham and South Shore units of the park.
Central Texas
- Emergency Vehicle Operations Course, Florence, Williamson County (DPS) – $49.7 million to build a driving track facility with driving training areas, classrooms and driving simulators to serve Texas law enforcement agencies on a scheduled basis.
- Austin Crime Lab (DPS) – $28.7 million to expand and improve the crime lab serving law enforcement organizations in the area and across the state, speeding up turnaround time for evidence analysis and preparing for caseload growth in the future. Most crime labs are decades old, with caseloads now many times their original scope.
- Austin State Hospital (DSHS) – $2,448,647 to repair/replace roofs and primary electrical distribution systems and to renovate interiors and provide access for people with disabilities in client residences.
- San Antonio State Hospital (DSHS) – $2,772,168 to repair/replace roofs, replace air handling units and repair/replace exterior windows and doors for client residences, replace steam distribution piping and make other repairs.
- Kerrville State Hospital, Kerr County (DSHS) – $3,234,640 to repair/replace roofs, replace the air conditioning cooling tower serving client residences, and make other major repairs.
- Bastrop State Park, Bastrop, Bastrop County (TPWD) – $3,670,193 for major repairs to several historic buildings built 70 years ago by the Civilian Conservation Corps. This includes plumbing repairs to save the swimming pool bath house, which is deteriorating from water rot caused by leaks, foundation and roof repairs for the golf pro shop, and various repairs for the group barracks, restrooms and kitchen.
- Buescher State Park, Smithville, Bastrop County (TPWD) – $861,372 to repair foundation problems threatening the walls and roof of the park Recreation Hall constructed 70 years ago by the Civilian Conservation Corps.
- Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, Fredericksburg, Gillespie County (TPWD) – $207,309 to replace or repair two septic systems.
- Garner State Park, Concan, Uvalde County (TPWD) – $1,556,552 to repair damage to walls, windows, floors and doors caused by foundation failures at 17 park cabins built by the Civilian Conservation Corps; repair roof problems, door breaks, and pealing paint on 22 screen shelters; and renovate and enclose old group shelters.
- Inks Lake State Park, Burnet, Burnet County (TPWD) – $450,285 to repair and replace deteriorated electrical service and waterlines at 65 campsites.
- Lost Maples State Natural Area, Vanderpool, Bandera County (TPWD) – $257,802 to repair and replace deteriorated electrical service and waterlines at campsites.
- LBJ State Historic Site, Stonewall, Gillespie County (TPWD) – $542,986 to repair leaking metal roofs, rotting historic log cabins, and worn wood floors at the Sauer-Beckmann Farm; and to repair the Danz Cabins, historic log structures in their original locations which must be repaired to prevent risk to visitors.

West Texas
- Abilene Crime Lab, Taylor County (DPS) – $2.9 million to expand and improve the crime lab serving area law enforcement organizations, speeding up turnaround time for evidence analysis and preparing for caseload growth in the future. Most crime labs are decades old, with caseloads now many times their original scope.
- El Paso Crime Lab, El Paso County (DPS) – $6.4 million to expand and improve the crime lab serving area law enforcement organizations.
- El Paso Psychiatric Center, El Paso County (DSHS) – $136,229 to replace the air conditioning system control computer and make interior renovations for client residences.
- Big Spring State Hospital, Big Spring, Howard County (DSHS) – $2,269,245 for water and sewer pipe replacement for client residences, roof repair/replacement.
- Balmorhea State Park, Toyahvale, Reeves County (TPWD) – $397,427 to repair and replace failing roofs, chimneys and trim and repair exterior wall damage, including historic adobe, in facilities originally built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s.
- Davis Mountains State Park, Fort Davis, Jeff Davis County (TPWD) – $618,725 to repair a shifting and cracking wall in a historic warehouse building, plus make wall, roof and interior repairs to a ranger's residence, both built by the Civilian Conservation Corps.
- Fort McKavett State Historic Site, Fort McKavett, Menard County (THC) – Repairs to exterior woodwork, windows, gates and many other items at this frontier fort.
- Fort Lancaster State Historic Site, Sheffield, Pecos County (THC) – Repairs to stabilize a historic adobe soldiers quarters, visitor center, electrical system and other items.
- Magoffin Home State Historic Site, El Paso, El Paso County (THC) – Repairs to sidewalks, fences, doors and many other aspects of the buildings and grounds at this historic home.
Panhandle
- Lubbock Crime Lab and Regional Office (DPS) – $36.6 million to improve the capacity and efficiency of the crime lab serving area law enforcement agencies, expand the driver license office and parking, and address overcrowding issues as part of a 97,000-square foot DPS Regional Headquarters.
- Palo Duro Canyon State Park, Canyon, Randall County (TPWD) – $454,662 to conduct an engineering study for alternative water supply options and make repairs and renovations to provide access for people with disabilities to the Sagebrush camping loop, Chinaberry day use area and park headquarters.
North Texas
- Cedar Hill State Park, Cedar Hill, Dallas County (TPWD) – $4,356,253 to replace electrical systems and water lines and add wastewater service to Lakeview, Eagle Ford, Shady Ridge, Hog Hollow and Coyote Cross camping loops, as well as make restrooms and the headquarters accessible to people with disabilities. Cedar Hill has the highest overnight camping rates in the state park system, and its older systems can no longer handle the demands of newer, larger recreational vehicles.
- Terrell State Hospital, Terrell, Kaufman County (DSHS) – $6,002,622 for fire sprinkler installation and emergency generator replacement in buildings used by clients, roof repair/replacement, replacement of air conditioning and electrical systems in client residences, and other major repairs.
- North Texas State Hospital-Wichita Falls, Wichita County (DSHS) – $7,899,820 to install emergency generator and replace air conditioning system for client residences, repair/replace roofs and make other major repairs.
- North Texas State Hospital-Vernon, Wilbarger County (DSHS) – $1,361,932 to repair/replace emergency generator and fire alarm systems in buildings and residences used by clients, repair/replace roofs, and modify restrooms for access by people with disabilities in client residences.
- Waco Center for Youth, Waco, McLennan County ( DSHS) – $728,183 to repair/replace roofs, make sanitary/sewer and storm sewer repairs, and replace an electrical transformer in the client support building.
- Lake Whitney State Park, Whitney, Hill County (TPWD) – $480,858 for renovations to a restroom, recreation hall and screen shelters to provide access for people with disabilities.
- Eisenhower Birthplace, Denison, Grayson County (THC) – The concrete floor of this historic home has shifted and cracked to a serious degree. Prop 4 funds would help repair the floor, siding and wiring and replace interpretive exhibits.
East Texas
- Tyler Crime Lab, Tyler, Smith County (DPS) – $6.8 million to expand and improve the crime lab serving area law enforcement organizations, speeding up turnaround time for evidence analysis and preparing for caseload growth in the future. Most crime labs are decades old, with caseloads now many times their original scope.
- Tyler State Park, Tyler, Smith County (TPWD) – $2,585,641 to replace restrooms in the Black Jack and Red Oak camping areas, renovate the Cedar Point camping area, renovate the park group facility and convert screen shelters into cottages, and repair buildings built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps.
- Rusk State Hospital, Rusk, Cherokee County (DSHS) – $ 2,628,238 to repair/replace roofs, replace the primary electrical distribution system, replace emergency generator for client residences, and make other repairs.
- Daingerfield State Park, Daingerfield, Morris County (TPWD) – $2 million to repair deteriorated elements of the park's many buildings built in the 1930's by the Civilian Conservation Corps, including the Bass Lodge, Boat House and Concession building.
- Mission Tejas State Park, Grapeland, Houston County (TPWD) – $963,958 to renovate a park restroom and trail system, replace deteriorated pedestrian bridges, repair the historic Rice Family log home, and re-roof and re-mortar the Spanish Mission building.
- Caddoan Mounds, Alto, Cherokee County (THC) – Prop 4 would help replace fences, renovate buildings, repair electrical systems, re-mortar brick walls and make other repairs at this Native American archeological site.
- Starr Family Home, Marshall, Harrison County (THC) – Bond funds would help repair siding and repaint, replace the front and back porches, and make other repairs to this historic home.
